Double Drop Float
Double drop deck trailers, also known as Lowboy, low bed, or float trailers, are closer to the ground than any other trailer style.
The double drop trailer is typically 24 inches above the ground in size. The two drops behind the gooseneck and in front of the back wheels help with this. For a wide range of equipment, we can provide double drop float services. Double drop floats are available in a variety of styles and sizes. They come in sizes ranging from 35 to 85 tons and can haul a single item weighing up to 170,000 pounds. Our drivers have attended load securement courses and have experience with oversize loads.
Before ordering a float, you should be aware of the following information:
- Make and model of machine
- Proper street names and or directions
- Width
- Length (wheel base as well as overall)
- Weight
- Height (to highest point including lights)
With our annual permissions, most machines can be transported. The following are the maximum dimensions that can be used before a single trip permit is required:
- 12 feet and 6 inches is the maximum width.
- 11 feet and 6 inches is the maximum height allowed.
- 80 000 pounds maximum weight.
